Wood Anemone – White (Anemone nemorosa)

Wood Anemone – White (Anemone nemorosa) is one of our most beloved spring flowers, spreading joy with its pure white blooms early in the season. This charming perennial thrives excellently in shady to semi-shady locations and is perfect for the woodland garden or beneath trees and shrubs. The wood anemone flowers from March to May and forms beautiful carpets of white blooms that illuminate the dark corners of your garden. The plant reaches a height of 10-15 cm and spreads naturally through underground rhizomes. Wood anemone is extremely hardy and copes with British winters without difficulty. It prefers moist, humus-rich soil and is ideal for woodland-like environments. After flowering, the foliage dies back and the plant rests through summer. White wood anemone is perfect for combining with other spring flowers such as Grecian windflower, winter aconite and snowdrop for a natural spring garden.
